Olatunbosun Amao is a Nigerian-Canadian filmmaker, storyteller, and business executive whose work bridges strategy and creativity. With an academic background in Political Science and an MBA from the University of Bologna, Olatunbosun brings a global lens to cultural storytelling and platform-building. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), with a leadership role in business systems at a major Canadian credit union.
Through his production company, Bosun Amao Productions, he has produced and directed several acclaimed projects, including the award-winning short A Different Lens, which won the Jury Award for Best Short Film (North America) at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival. His debut feature film, Troublous Weekend, premiered in 2024. Olatunbosun also executive produced Black Mail, a commercially successful film screened across over 100 cinemas in Canada, the UK, and Nigeria.
Deeply committed to socially relevant storytelling, he has developed a growing portfolio of original works including Unforgivable and A Surrogate Psycho’s Love Story, and was recently featured for his contributions to the African film tech space. His approach blends cultural authenticity with modern storytelling techniques, giving voice to underrepresented experiences across the diaspora.
As Vice President of BEST Film Studios, Olatunbosun helps shape the organization’s strategy, programming, and industry partnerships. His mission is clear: to empower Black filmmakers, build sustainable creative ecosystems, and bring powerful stories to global audiences.
