Black Emerging Screen Talent

BEST Film Studios (Black Emerging Screen Talent) is a not-for-profit cultural organization based in Canada, dedicated to empowering and amplifying the voices of emerging Black filmmakers and creatives. Through mentorship, platform-building, and strategic industry partnerships, we serve as a bridge between talent and opportunity. We do not fund films directly, but we help bring stories to life by connecting creators to resources, funding channels, and professional guidance.

In addition to our annual film competition and mentorship opportunities, BEST Film Studios offers professional training programs designed to equip filmmakers with essential skills in production, editing, storytelling, and industry best practices.

At BEST Film Studios (Black Emerging Screen Talent), our mission is clear: to amplify emerging Black voices in film and digital storytelling. We work tirelessly to create opportunities, foster creativity, and ensure that diverse, impactful stories are told. Here's how we make a difference:

  • Host programs and competitions to showcase emerging Black talent
  • Act as executive producers and connectors for selected film projects
  • Offer mentorship and training through partner organizations
  • Provide networking opportunities with funders, producers, and studios
  • Advocate for equitable representation in film and media industries

Our Mission

To amplify emerging Black voices in film and digital storytelling, cultivate creativity, and facilitate access to platforms, mentorship, and industry connections necessary for impactful storytelling.
